Puerto Rico's North Region



The north region is a mixture of old and new, modern and contemporary.

From historic architecture and scenes, to breathtaking subterranean cave system, the largest the world, the northern region offers plenty of attractions and sites for all kinds of interests.

The north region consists of nine cities:

Did You Know?

Contrary to popular belief the Puerto Rican flag is not based on the American Flag, but the Cuban flag. Puerto Rico adopted the same flag design, which was unveiled in 1895. In 1952, the blue field was changed from a light blue to a darker blue, like the American flag.
