No! No! No! Don't Stay Here!
by Dennis Nykiel from Chicago, IL USA
The room was clean with A/C and the people were nice. But... I would expect that anywhere. According to what we read about this hotel it sounded like an easy trip to Old San Juan. Parking facilities are awful. Very hard to get your car in and out and the traffic around here was awful. We took cabs to Old San Juan: a five minute ride cost $10 each way! The hotel's restaurant was under renovation and the location is in the middle of an economically depressed area full of street people. "The sun deck" is a dirty roof top and the "exercise room'" is a closet. I suppose that for $99 a night we should have expected this, but Oh my gosh! What a waste. Date of visit: July, 2005

Broken Elevator Doesn't Help
by Hugo from Maine
Too expensive for what they offer, and a broken elevator makes it pretty rough to deal with luggage. Rooms are small and moldy. Nothing worth noticing. Date of visit: January 10, 2004

OK Place for Overnight
by Carolyn from RI
My husband and I wanted to spend a day in Old San Juan before we embarked for our cruise. So, I purposefully wanted a hotel that was near the port and also near to the heart of the city. The hotel was neither, contrary to how it advertised itself. This is a very old hotel in a not-so-very nice part of the city. We stayed in a room that was one of the cleanest hotel rooms we have seen. Unfortunately, the freon from the air conditioner blew -- the management gave us another room immediately and this room was equally as clean and frankly had a great view of the ocean. I would stay here again only if I had to -- however, the price is right for an overnight or short stay, especially if you are only looking for a place to sleep and not making the hotel, itself, part of your destination/vacation. There is a wonderful French bistro one or two blocks away from the hotel -- I highly recommend this -- great cassoulet --- and a full bar. Date of visit: May, 2005

Friendly and cheap but...
by Roy Miller from Augusta, Maine USA
We found the Miramar to be a friendly place and our reservation was efficiently handled. However, one of our two rooms smelled moldy, and neither looked anywhere as nice as the photos on their site. Continental breakfast was pitiful with no fruit, a bit unbelievable in Puerto Rico. Date of visit: December, 2003

For that Caribbean Feel
by Lindsay from Dix Hills, NY USA
This is a great place for a Caribbean feel. Not overly extravagant. On the simple side but nevertheless nice. All staff was helpful and the bar makes good drinks. We were lucky enough to be in a room next to the elevator so it was huge compared to other peoples room. Priced well for me and my college friend. Close bus ride to Old San Juan. Christmas Stay
by Nancy from Connecticut USA
We stayed here for 4 nights. The service was wonderful! The desk staff helped out to the fullest and they should be commended for their professionalism. This hotel is not 4 star but the room was spacious and was set "in" town so we got to see the life style. If you stay here rent a car but taxis are numerous and its a short bus ride to Old San Juan. Don't drive to Old San Juan-too much trouble getting out. We did enjoy our stay here and recommend it highly. The elevator is slow... Date of visit: 12/25/2004

Service and Facilities
by Tanya from USA
I was in Miramar for 10 days and was not very happy that hotel. I went there for a vacation and had to fill up the toilet tank with water myself with a garbage bucket. I think when I am paying $130 a night, they can keep their plumbing running right. Their fitness room is the size of a closet. Their roof top with DJ and Bar was not open for entertainment. I felt like I was camping. Date of visit: 03/2004

Great Place
by Abigail Suarez from Allentown, PA USA
Very affordable place to stay. All the employees were very kind and helpful. The hotel is located is nice area close to everything. The hotel restaurant doesn't have the best of food. Other than that I would stay again. My husband and I stayed for five nights, very clean and comfortable. Date of visit: February 26, 2005
