Disappointed
by Beth from Canada
My family and I book the trip together after visiting the Inns website. We were not expecting a 5 star hotel but were not expecting a motel like place either. Surprisingly, we found ourselves in a very uncomfortable living situation. There was water damage in our room and poor air ventilation. My old son and my mother in law left with an awful cold that I attribute to the lack of ventilation in our rooms. It was very disappointing. However, we managed to enjoy the Island itself which was quite beautiful, colorful, friendly and refreshing unlike our accommodations. Date of visit: September, 2006

Good Value
by Melissa from New Haven, CT
As college kids needing an inexpensive place to stay, my boyfriend and I took a gamble staying at Casa del Caribe, not knowing anything about it expect that it was cheap. Our room didn't quite match up to the pictures, but for $80/night in the peak season, the room was totally adequate. A little run down, but well kept and clean. The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful (Felix is helpful as ever). The staff was constantly cleaning and maintaining the patio area which is very relaxing. Location is great, quietly located on a side street, but like a 3 minute walk from all the good shops, restaurants, and beach. If you need an affordable hotel to just rest your head and have a hot shower. I would recommend this Inn. Date of visit: March, 2006

A Good Bargain
by Jackie Elliott from UK
Having found this Inn on the INTERNET (this site) I took a gamble in booking it having read previous reviews, this gamble I am happy to report paid off. We found this hotel to be clean, tidy, centrally located, yet quiet enough to get away from it all if required. The staff especially 'Felix' were extremely helpful, providing advice which allowed us to effectively focus the short time we had on the Island. If you are looking for a good value hotel in the center of Condado (San Juan) then look no further. Date of visit: April 24, 2005

A Cozy Place to Stay
by Ada Torres from Lynn, MA USA
My grandson and I stayed in the Caribe del Mar. We enjoyed the hotel because we were able to seat outside and enjoy the weather while playing cards and dominos or having a nice cup of coffee from Starbucks. It is a cozy place to stay and I strongly recommended if you are traveling with children. The staff is very friendly and go out of their way to help. They are also very helpful when tourists want to travel around the city. I plan to stay again. Date of visit: June 25 - July 1, 2004

Good for the price
by Andrea Middleton from St. Thomas USVI
Very centrally located. Nice, helpful people at the front desk. The main attraction here for me is price and location. The rooms are tiny, but clean. If you just need a place to sleep while you spend your days and nights exploring Puerto Rico, this is a good choice. I am planning to stay here again. Date of visit: September, 2003

Filthy Room, Stuck Way in the Back
by The Patton's from FL USA
We stayed here at Casa del Caribe, only because our reservation at The Wind Chimes (one of their properties) was NOT available when we arrived from the states. Our room was horrible! It was way in the back corner (the only room left). The window was painted so you couldn't see out and wouldn't close. I can now see why, as it faced an alley. I almost fell walking into the bathroom as it went down hill (no kidding) plus, the sink, toilet and tub where deplorable... and the window in the bathroom didn't close, so that meant no A/C, so you had to keep the door closed (which took force to open again) into the main room. The carpet was filthy... as our feet were black from walking on it. I would never stay at this hotel, but we had NO CHOICE. Thank God it was only one night, as we still had to pay the same as what we would have paid at Wind Chimes. The outside court area was nice a tropically landscaped and breakfast service was decent. Could have been better!
by Ron Favors from Chicago, IL USA
I found this place on the web and used it for the cost. Went by myself, 2/24-2/28/02. OK room, no hot water, had to shower in cold water. Close to main street and block from beach. If I had hot water would have rated it higher. Didn't complain to management, but that's my fault. Date of visit: February, 2002
